Aerosol Dispersion Studies

Measuring aerosol evolution from a quick burst of aerosol can be challenging as the characteristics of the particles may vary significantly during the spray, dispersion and deposition of the aerosol. These type of fast changing aerosols can be generated in various different processes and the measurement applications can vary from human sneezing to medical inhalers and electrosprays. The requirements for the measurement instrument, however, are similar; real-time, fast detection, accuracy and broad particle size range.

The Dekati ELPI®+ and High Resolution ELPI®+ are powerful tools in dispersion research with 10 Hz time resolution and wide size range from 6 nm up to 10 µm. This complete size range is measured with one measurement technology and one instrument. The complete selection of our particle measurement instruments include both real-time instruments such as the ELPI®+ instruments and gravimetric cascade impactors for particle aerodynamic size distribution and concentration measurements. We have over 25 years of experience in real-time aerosol measurements and today, our instruments are used globally by thousands of customers both in research and industry to measure different properties of airborne particles <10 µm.
